One Studio created an in-world app for drawing a card from a deck. It can be used for card games and conversation prompts (Cards Against Humanity, Snakes and Ladders, Tarot, etc.), rolling a dice, or for simply sharing encouraging messages with strangers. See it below.

You can use any of our decks here:

And you can create your own decks here:

One Studio has built the minimum viable product (MVP) for an in-world Photo Booth in Topia. When the linked object is clicked, a web-based photo booth is opened and the guest is prompted to take one or many photos. After snapping, the guest is prompted to enter their email to receive the photos. Each photo is watermarked with a custom photo frame aligned with the world in which they were embedded and emailed to the guest.

It's one of our most requested activations by clients and we're currently investigating the cost of building it as a more scalable product. Comment below to get updates on this app.

We'd been wanting a notification for when someone entered our world and found a simple way to create one with Zapier.Β

Step 1: Create Your Zap

Choose 'Webhooks by Zapier' and set the Trigger Event to 'Catch Hook'.

Next, copy the Custom Webhook URL, remove the forward slash at the end and add something like ?world={name} to pass to your notification.

Step 2: Add the Webhook In-World

Using Topia's Asset Editor, add your webhook to an object in-world. You can place it in the center of the spawn to get pinged for all who enter.

Step 3: Test Your Trigger

In Zapier, click 'Test Trigger' or 'Load More' to catch your webhook. You may need to refresh your Topia browser to make this happen.

Step 4: Setup Your Alert

Now that you've caught the webhook, you can create any kind of alert as there are thousands of apps you can use with Zapier. For this tutorial, we've used Twilio to send a text message. You can post to Slack too.

Step 5: Receive Your Alert

Corporate clients bringing their teams to Topia have on occasion experienced worlds not loadingβ€”seeing only white with no visible objects. This behavior is most frequently a product of being stuck behind a company firewall. If this occurs, contact your IT department to whitelist topia.io ’s domain name and allow topia.io to execute cross-domain requests. Individual computers should also have adblockers disabled for topia.io or, at a minimum, whitelisted.
